Markering Yourself on the Web

The past few weeks in Ms. Butera's class we have been working on creating our Wikispaces website and it has been quite interesting. I learned that if I want to promote myself in the future I can use this web based website to  help me. Considering the fact that I am an amateur when it comes to web design.

Photoshop would have to be one of the fun topics we have covered. editing pictures and putting of people and doing body swaps was super fun, but my favorite would have to be the gifs. There are so many hilarious gifs out there on the internet its ridiculous. My favorite would have to be of the scared red panda. One of the Photoshop pictures I did that I fell in love with was the one with the layers.

Ignition's Internet Resources and Credibility.

Internet Resources and Credibility is the 3rd module on the website https://platform.everfi.net that teaches you how to trust trust websites to see if they are resourceful or not.
  1. How to know if a site has primary or secondary research:
    • you should  always check if author of the blog or site has very knowledgeable background.
    • when then last the blog was updated.
    • if there are any grammatical errors.
  2.  A Url with .gov for government sites and .edu for educational sites are usually credible sources, but others with .com .org .biz etc. should be further invested
  3. To avoid plagiarism always CITE your sources.
  4. When using technology in school make sure it was okay by the teacher, and it was used responsibly.
And remember when in doubt always cite your source.

History of the World Wide Web

I would have thought the World Wide Web came before anything but I was surprised to find out that big companies like Microsoft, AOL, and Apple Inc came before. There was a lot of inventions that started around 1940, like the Harvard Mark-1, ERA 1101 drum memory, all this little things coming into one to create what we know today as the World Wide Web.

Blogs of Interest

I researched blogs on pop culture and fashions; I found blog sites of Youtubers that I'm already subscribed too.

The first blog is by Tanya Burr, /http://www.tanyaburr.co.uk/

The second blog is by Jim Champan http://www.jimchapman.co.uk/

What I Learned About Blogs

Blogs are used by individuals who have specific interest. They like to share their blogs with people who have similar interest as them or they like to get their thoughts or ideas out there. Most blogs today are created for people with start up businesses, some people are even professionals and they get paid to blog.
